I have been wanting to buy the Fugitive since the first season came out, but I can't get over the price. Paramount released the season in two sets and are selling half the season as the same price as a normal priced set. So if I want both volumes it is about $50, way too much. Paramount did the same for the seasons of Gunsmoke. What are some shows you guys would get if they were cheaper.

Well to start out with, my all time favorite show Star Trek The Original Series. Not the "remastered" sets, but the original now out of print sets. If I find a good deal on ebay or amazon for all three sets I'll get them. Or I may just wait until I get a hi def TV & blu ray player & buy the blu ray sets.
Would also buy The Twilight Zone Original Series if the sets were cheaper. |

I'm an adult with a real job. I don't find any DVD sets terribly expensive so cost has never been a factor in any of my buying decisions.

$50 a season is a lot compared to other shows. I saw Best Buy had Dallas for $15 last week. I just don't like buying half a season and paying the same price as a whole season for another series. That is why I think it's overpriced. |

If you find that too expensive, then perhaps you should find a cheaper hobby. Maybe kite flying would be more in line with your budget? |

I still don't get the complaints about the split seasons being too expensive.
Do you balk at buying a full season of a sitcom for 25-30 dollars? No? Well, the amount of material on a half season of The Fugitive is roughly the same, if not more, as the amount of material on a season of The Odd Couple, or Cheers, or Taxi. So, why should Paramount sell a full season of The Fugitive, which is twice as long and would contain twice as many discs as a season of a Sitcom, for the same price as a full season of a sitcom? I mean, CBS/P does some stupid stuff, especially where The Fugitive is concerned, but I can understand the split seasons. They only want to sell so much material for a certain price, and that's their right. Plus, would you buy one box set for 60 bucks, or two for 25 each? |

I guess it does make sense though since you are getting a longer episode. Length wise it probbably equals out. |

I guess you wouldn't have liked it very much in the mid-70s when we didn't have beta or vhs and you had to pay $30 for a one hour umatic tape.
