Exclamation Jeff Conaway Suffers Brain Hemorrhage, Broken Hip in Fall

Jeff Conaway from "Grease" was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital today -- and according to his girlfriend, he suffered devastating injuries.

Jeff's girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi, tells TMZ Jeff fell down a staircase this morning at his home and suffered a broken hip, a broken arm, a fractured neck and a brain hemorrhage.

Vicki says Jeff is currently in the emergency room and will undergo surgery on his broken hip.

Oh, my goodness - just when it looked like things couldn't get any worse for him...God bless him and grant him a full, speedy recovery!! Here's another link about the story:

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2010/01...y6115508.shtml

NEW YORK (CBS) Jeff Conaway, an American actor best known for his role in the 1978 hit movie "Grease" and his recent struggles with substance abuse, was rushed to a California hospital today after falling down a staircase, suffering a fractured neck and a brain hemorrhage, reports Internet celebrity site TMZ.

Vikki Lizzi, Conaway's girlfriend, spoke to the blog, and confirmed that the actor, who was also known for his roles in "Taxi" and "Babylon 5," is currently in a Los Angeles emergency room and will undergo surgery.

Conaway, 59, also suffered a broken hip and arm, Lizzi said.

In recent years, Conaway appeared on "Celebrity Rehab" in 2008 in a bid to fight off his substance abuse problems. The show revealed that Conaway was addicted to cocaine, alcohol, and painkillers.

The actor stated that he had been an addict since he was a teenager, and was the victim of "pedophiles and child pornographers."

Conaway also appeared in VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club," but was forced to leave due to his relapse and entered rehab soon after.

Such a sad story about Jeff Conaway's life really. The drugs killed this guys career. I think he would've had a big movie career if not for drugs.

It is a shame. He had it all - looks, charisma, etc. Like so many others, he's thrown it all away. Hopefully his life can be spared, even if his career can't be.

I agree, although this may set him back on his addiction.

What a terrible story. And what a shame about the direction his life took. Regardless, hope springs eternal. Here's wishing Mr. Conaway a speedy recovery and a brighter tomorrow!

I pray for his recovery and I agree, it's such a shame that his career and life went the way it did. I really liked him on Taxi.

I hope Jeff makes a full recovery. I used to be a big fan of his when he was on Taxi. It's so sad what has happened to him. Everyone else from that show had big careers after Taxi ended. It's a shame he didn't.

I really like Jeff. I just feel bad that he's had to deal with drugs and stuff. He is so talented. I'm rooting for him for a fast recovery with minimal pain.

Back in 1978, things looked very promising for Conaway: That summer, he co-starred in the blockbuster movie musical Grease. In the fall, he was one of the cast members of Taxi, a show that was critically acclaimed and loved by audiences.

I think Conaway "jumped the shark" career-wise when he quit Taxi mid-way through it's run. He didn't do anything major afterwards. In fact, it got so bad, he was starring on a daytime soap a few years later and doing Troy McClure-style infomercials, "Hi, I'm Jeff Conaway and you may remember me from Taxi."

At this stage of the game, I think all Conaway can hope for is to pull his personal life together: Get his drug addiction under control and hope to live a quiet life. I think professionally he's finished because after being a has-been on a "reality" show, I don't think there's much out there for him.

I wish him well and hope he gets it together.

Exclamation Jeff Conaway, 59, Wants A Home Death, Viking Funeral

'Celebrity Rehab' fixture Jeff Conaway can't kick his prescription drug habit and wants to die at home, his girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi, tells E! News.

"This is just devastating," Lizzi said. "I tried to save him from himself by trying to get him help...He wants to die at home. He knows the meds are killing him. He can't get off them."

The former 'Grease' star, 59, is even telling Lizzi about what he imagines for his funeral.

"He's talking about being burned on a boat and sent out to sea like a Viking funeral. It sends chills up my spine," she said. "We're all trying to save his life, and he's not listening."

Two years ago Conaway said that Scientology, which his 'Grease' costar John Travolta introduced him to, helped him get clean. Lizzi told E! that Travolta sent Conaway flowers this week and Dr. Drew has been consulting with him, but he is stubborn and needs and intervention.
