I apologize if there is already a thread about Loretta Myers but I have been searching for page after page and I have been unable to find one. My question is...was she ever found? Dead or alive? And was the man who took her away from her family ever found? I ask this because I was watching a video tape at my mothers yesterday and Loretta's story was on it...but there did not appear to be any updates. I would love any information on this case. I have looked online but it turns out the name is fairly popular and I have not been able to find anything. Thank you!

She was found alive and returned to her family in 1995. The segment aired during the 1994-95 season, but an update on it was shown early in the 1995-96 season. (Evidently, she was found after the summer repeat airing of the segment, since there had been no update on it at the time.) As for the man who married her, their marriage was anulled. Although he was up to no good, I don't think he was ever charged with anything (probably because there was evidence that he had committed any criminal act). In any case, the man was pretty much out of the picture for good. Because it was established that Loretta came down with Alzheimer's disease in the early 1990s, it is very likely she is now deceased. |

yeah that case was very interesting, one my personal favourites. Glad to hear she was returned to her family but of course with time passed by she is likely no longer with us.
