Malcolm in the Middle
George Lopez

Are there any shows where it is reversed and the wife is the goofball and the husband is level headed? (Dharma & Greg?)

The prime example of the goofball wife/level headed husband would be "I Love Lucy". Another similar example is the lesser known Jim Backus series "I Married Joan". You could also put "Bewitched" into this category.

A good example would be The Nanny, but technically only the last season would count, when Fran and Max were married.
