Come February, Vampire Diaries will reveal that Katherine the Late (Nina Dobrev) isn’t the only entombed vampire someone is trying to release from the Mystic Falls crypt. The popular CW show’s executive producer Julie Plec tells me, “we have a union soldier down there named Harper who we’ll be seeing soon.”

Very soon. All My Children vet Sterling Sulieman will debut as Harper on February 11 and stick around for at least three more episodes. Sterling can also be seen as CTU Agent Tac on this season’s 24.

Sulieman shared his excitement about his new role with his Twitter followers, saying, "Not going to Atlanta till Monday! but I got fitted for my Vampire Eyes. Also got to try on the black ones from true blood. Creepy."

I’m thinking Harper’s arrival may be especially good news for the bewitching Bonnie, who could use a break from casting spells.
