Different UM host quirks - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi everyone,
I don't know if this is a pointless post, but it made me laugh thinking about it, and I thought to see what your opinions were.
Is it just me...
Or does Dennis Farina leave off the last word of every. Sentence? It seems to have a very dramatic. Effect.

Or does Karl Mal den pro nounce ev e ry syl la ble of ev e ry word that he says?

Or does Robert Stack say atall too much?

Anyhow, those little quirks made me laugh. But seriously, it is a very nice treat to see the Karl Malden and Raymond Burr episodes that I have never seen before.

I always thought Karl Malden seemed sad during his closing comments of the third special.

I suppose it's just psychological though since I knew he lost the job.

the guy that host it on spike always seems waaaaaya to happy and smiley and is that set up for real or just a hoax? who are those people!

No one and I mean no one can dead pan like Robert Stack!!

It's not Dennis Farina's fault the new UM is lame, but he just doesn't hold the power and appeal of Robert Stack, who is in my mind the best host I have ever seen. Dennis Farina DOES seem too smiley and has no mystery about him. Raymond Burr had a good voice, but didn't hold the thrilling persona. Karl Malden was very expressive and had a good way of asking questions, though he seemed much more conversational. Robert Stack had words he would say often and I loved the way he said "atall". I'll never forget the "Someone, somewhere will be able to solve a mystery. Perhaps that someone is watching. Perhaps it's you." That never got old!

You know, one of the quirks I liked about RS is that he never tried to pronounce foreign words correctly very hard--he just read them like he saw them. Sometimes I hear him pronounce a Spanish name and it just tickles me.

ok still will someone answer me whether the people in the back ground for dennis farina are for real or not??!?!?

Also Stack wore really cool coats and was always followed by a smoke machine. Also his locations were really creepy. Dark back alley's, spooky rooms, basements, cemetaries, dungeons...

Ok, I'm sorry, but those people behind dennis farina cannot be doing something real! they are not doing any research or taking tips imo. they have to be there just for effect!

Haha I always loved the locations where Robert Stack was filmed. They were always so creepy. I wish I knew where some of them were so that I could go visit them. I'm sure most of them were on a set, but some were definately filmed elsewhere...I wanna check them out =p

Oh yeah, those locations rocked! I always thought it was neat how Robert Stack was standing next to that "49RHUGS" car during the Dick Hanson segment. Made it more real.

He's probably in front of a green screen, and that's probably stock footage of god only knows what.
