Hi Everyone!
I know I am a few days early. I'll be traveling for the next few days, and probably won't be able to make it to a computer in time, but I wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Robert Stack!!!! 91 years old. He put such great work into the show. I'm just curious to hear from you...what were your favorite Robert Stack moments, either on UM or in his other works? I do declare that January 13th should be a national holiday. well, it certainly feels like a holiday on this board!

Remember the scene he had in BASEketball? it was a spoof of unsolved mysteries
"According to Angelique Beaumont, a nosy ***** who lives up the street, he took with him only a toothbrush, a wallet, a steamer trunk, and a plane ticket to Calcutta. Police theorize several possible scenarios of what could have happened to the man affectionately know to the world as "Coop." "Scenario number one: He's hanging by his neck in his ******* closet." "Scenario number two: Coop went to Disney world." "if I were a woman i'd sure love to be his girlfriend, walking in the park hand in hand, wrapping my legs around her, cuddling in the swoon position" |

I'm laughing just remembering the BASEketball scene. I also love watching the Airplane! scenes he was in. I was too young to watch them when they first came out, so when I got around to it as a teenager I flipped out when I saw RS in them.
Anybody remember that night that Lifetime advertised he was going to be in a chatroom answering questions? I was in the chat room that night. My questions never got answered but he answered a lot of them and was on for at least 2 hours. He talked alot about his dog, his family, and the Untouchables. |

Yes! I remember the live chat that he did! That must have been exciting. THat was about the summer of 2002. I remember wanting to do the chat, but somehow i did not get around to it. I thought "Oh, there will be other times..." But then, the next spring, I learned that he passed away.
Do any of you remember a commercial he did for Pepsi? It was another UM spoof of his. A family comes home to find their house robbed of everything, save for the pepsi, which was protected by the "pepsi club." (on that note, does anyone remember the Club, and Officer Jack Klarick?) And robert stack is asking for info about the brazen thieves. I DEFINITEly have to look out for BASEketball! It sounds like a riot! |

Happy 91st to the best UM host and quite possibly the best host in general.

I also loved him as Rex Kramer in Airplane, especially when he beat up all the moonies at the airport.
