TV Conan O'Brien Could End Up on FOX

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- If Conan O'Brien decides to bolt NBC over its proposed late-night lineup revamp, he might find a welcome mat waiting for him at Fox.

The network respects O'Brien's talent and sees him as a good fit, a person at the Fox network said Friday. The person, who lacked authority to comment publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, said Fox was watching to see how the situation played out but that O'Brien remained under contract with NBC.

ABC, for its part, indicated a lack of interest if O'Brien became a free agent. The network, home of "Nightline" in the late-night slot, said in a statement

Friday that it respects O'Brien, but likes its current late night lineup.

Representatives for O'Brien did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Why do you say that?? The article says "Conan may find WELCOME mat at Fox".

Then Conan can finally have top billing there all by himself and we can finally see Leno and Conan and Dave all go head to head.

I'd rather Conan stay at NBC. That way he would still be the host of the hour-long Tonight Show and Jay would get his little half-hour show.

Though Fox is the #1 channel right now. Who knows, maybe people watching FOX would stay tuned and watch Conan.

It would be nice to see Leno,Conan, & Letterman go head to head, but I think in the end O'brien will stick with NBC. Fox might give him top billing but they could also fire him if things dont work out and thats not something I want to see.

It just sucks that Leno is getting cut down to half an hour. He SHOULD get his full hour!

EVERYONE who knows anything about Hollywood and marketing says Jay should've NEVER left Tonight since he is a perennial number one and king in the ratings for 15 years!!

They just interviewed a USC Journalism professor on the news today and she said NBC was crazy to fire Leno from Tonight in the first place!!

That's why it's poetic justice that Leno will be back but he should get his FULL HOUR!!

First of all, Jay wasnt fired from the Tonight Show. He stepped down(Retired!) to let Conan in. Why did things have to change? Cant we go back to the way things were before?

According to stories I've read the most likely person to be leaving the NBC late night line-up is Carson Daley. The canceling of his show is what would likely open up 30 minutes of air time for Jay in late night.

Yeah Carson should really have an talk show on MTV, it would be perfect. If there is one thing he knows its music, but thats about as far as it goes.
