Report: Raiders to fire head coach Tom Cable

OAKLAND, CA (KGO) -- It's become a tradition for the Oakland Raiders fans -- it appears the team could soon be getting a new coach.


ABC7's media partner the Mercury News reports that sources close to Raiders owner Al Davis say they franchise will fire head coach Tom Cable in the coming weeks.

If that is what happens - Cable would be the sixth coach Davis has fired since the 2001 season.

It's simple: Al Davis runs the team. He fully expects there to be a coach out there who can a)make the team one of the top teams in the NFL while b)doing it with JaMarcus Russell at QB.
