Cool Mayim Bialik Returning to Television

Link

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Mayim Bialik, a former teen actress best known for playing the title role in the 1990s U.S. comedy series "Blossom," is returning to television.

The New York Post said Bialik, 34, took more than a decade off from acting to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience, get married and give birth to two sons.

The newspaper said she is now testing the waters to see if people are interested in seeing her act in grownup roles. She will soon appear in recurring guest roles on TV's "'Til Death" and "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."

"I am trying to see if the industry would like to see me as an adult actress and not as a teenager," she told the Post.

It will be nice to see her again but I really doubt she'll have anywhere near the success she had on Blossom.

Anyone who knows anything about Hollywood knows it's VERY difficult to make it but she MADE it with a hit show in Blossom.

That was a teenager girl with her brothers and girlfriend and boyfriend as she lived with her dad. VERY different scenario as opposed to an adult actor.

It's so hard to believe she's that old and had 2 kids and a degree in neuroscience?!?!?? Who is her husband??

How many child stars have made it as adult actors?? Practically NONE! I can only think of Ricky Schroeder and he's not really that big of an adult actor.

I thought Ron Howard was still a teenager during Happy Days but still that's only 3 and there have been around 100 child actors if not more!!

And I've never heard of those other 2. WHO are they??

Zoneboy you seem to be following posts around all over the board! That's ok!

I didn't realize that there was a certain protocol for responding to posts. My usual way of doing things is to just go down the list of active threads and if I see one that interests me I'll read it. Sometimes I'll reply and sometimes I won't, It just depends on whether or not I have anything to say at that particular moment.

Ron Howard was a child when he played Opie on the "Andy Griffith Show". Jackie Cooper was a child actor in the "Little Rascals" ( Our Gang) and went on to an adult career as both an actor and a director.

I meant child SITCOM actors. I don't think any of those people were in sitcoms as kids.

Even if you include child actors from ALL genres there are HUNDREDS of child actors in that case.

And all you guys can list are a handful.

I REST MY CASE!!! (Like Tom Hanks told Michael J. Fox in Family Ties! )

Dean Stockwell was a child actor who got his start in the mid 40's. You might remember him best as Al from Quantam Leap

Jackie Cooper is a former child actor and as Marv already mentioned was inOur Gang. As an adult, He's probably best known for playing Perry White in the Superman movies.

Well Jodie Foster did have a recurring role on "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" as Eddie's friend Joey Kelly.

You're a good one to talk, All you could come up with was Ricky Schroeder so don't criticize the number of actors we listed. I can't type fast enough to list too many at a time and my fingers hurt like hell if I stay at the keyboard long enough so I have to rest from time to time.

You have no case to rest, Here's your actual quote.

You said child stars not sitcom child stars and therefore I rest my case.
