Hello,
I'm new to the forum, but I would like to ask anyone who is a current member to post any information they have about Larry Keating. Things like: cast comments about his death, when they learned he was ill, his last taping on Mr. Ed, anything his wife Ruth or family (brother John, sons: Larry Jr, Robert S, or step-son William Evans) may have had to say regarding his sudden death of leukemia. I think Larry was a really great actor, I believe he was a top-notch player and he carried the show. I feel bad that Kay was "forced" to leave the program but I understand they did not want to recast Larry's character. In one of the last programs Larry was in, "Wilbur Post, Honorary Horse" Wilbur was building the Addison Towers for Roger. I wonder if the show's writers had given any consideration to following along that line since Wilbur had already built the Addison Towers...do you suppose that could have been Kay's office where both Carol and Kay worked together? It would have been nice to see Edna stick around. Everyone on the show is a talent in their own respect, but if I were to be totally honest, I would say Roger (Larry) is the one who gets me to laugh the most. Kay can be pretty witty as well. Who is your fave? It's hard to pic a favorite as Mister Ed himself is so cute!! Any "personal" information regarding Larry Keating would be greatly appreciated. . . perhaps information from an old TV Guide or newspaper article discussing Larry's illness, his part on Mr. Ed.. anything! Did Larry win any awards or emmys? Did he have a star on Hollywood Blvd? I would think he was well deserving of both, but that's just my opinion. Please share yours. Thanks, Cathy |

My suggestion would be to go through the various Mr. Ed threads in the 1960's sitcom section. There may be several pieces of info about Larry Keating you are looking for.
