Anyone have a family member that is totally out of control, rude, etc?
I do. I have a family member whose behavior is appalling. This person is totally out of control. Has no respect for others and is very self-centered. This person is manipulative, sneaky, and bratty. This person does and says what they want to. I've tried reasoning with the person, but it doesn't help. |

I think the only chance you have of really affecting change on such a person is to have some sort of "intervention"; not maybe like the traditional kind, but at least you need some support from other family members in setting boundaries and laying down the law to this person.
If no one is willing to help support you, I'm afraid the behavior isn't likely to change. The person will just see you as the "bad guy" and won't feel compelled to listen to you if everyone else either sticks up for them or "turns the other cheek". Good luck, though. And yes, I do have some experience with a family member who's in need of control. Try not to let them change you, though I know that's hard. |

Practically everyone on my dad's side of the family is like that. I was having liver problems a while back and my aunt would laugh about it. "Oh, you have fatty liver, that sound so funny!!!" Sickening stuff like that. I try to stay away as much as possible.

Idk if they're really family, but my Aunts boyfriend is awful.
Let me give you an example. Last time they visited, he drank an ENTIRE bottle of Bourbon, asked my dad if he ever ****ed an old woman, and called me fatso. I win. |
