I see what you are saying, but the Flintstones were I believe the 1st animated primetime show. The spawned numerous spinoffs and specials. They made vitamins famous and have their own cereal that has been around for years.

That's a good point, too. The Flinstones were the pace setters, so to speak, and handed the baton to the Simpsons.

As Brian pointed out, The Flintstones has quite a legacy. I can't believe Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles cereals are still around!

But...The Simpsons has been on TV for 20 seasons. That's pretty huge.

You're absolutely right.

And counting all the Flintstones cartoons that aired on Saturday mornings, they ran for over 20 years. I was eating Flintstones vitamins in the early 70's and that was years after the prime-time series left the air.

It's a tough question; for those of us over 40 it's probably The Flintstones. But for younger people, I'd probably go with the Simpsons. I don't hear many people saying "Yabba Dabba Doo!" anymore, but I do hear a lot of "D'oh!"s.

Do they still make Flintstones vitamins? I used to eat those every day, too.

I believe they still make the vitamins. I know for sure they still make the Pebbles cereal.
