Rue played a psycho nanny (Caroline) who tried to poison her charges' mother, Pat, because Caroline was in love with Pat's husband, John. Amazingly, from what I've read in several soap opera books, her fan mail was overwhemingly positive! One woman even wrote her, saying that she wasn't using the right poison - and recommended another because "that's the one I used on my husband's first wife"!

Rue said later she never was able to tell whether or not the letter was a joke.

In any case, I find it highly amusing that when Blanche, Dorothy and Rose are all battling the flu, Blanche insists on watching Another World. Dorothy then yells that it's her turn to watch what SHE wants. "We are NOT watching Another World!!" Nice inside joke.

That's a wonderful photograph of Rue... wish there were some clips of her performances on Another World available to view somewhere...
