Golden Girls and Designing Women plots - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Has anyone else noticed how many of the plots of GG and DW are the same? Here are some that I noticed:

1. Rose is terrified and unable to function after the girls' home is ransacked. Mary Jo is the same after she is mugged.

2. Mary Jo confronts her ex-husband about how callous he was when he left her for another woman. Dorothy does the same to Stan: Both of these episodes were some of the first for both shows.

3. Mary Jo tries to force her daughter to like being competitive in a beauty pagent; Blanche does the same with her granddaughter.

4. Rose is terrified that she may be dying of HIV; Charlene is afraid that she has breast cancer.

There are a lot more that are even more glaringly obvious, but I'm drawing a blank. Anyone else think of some others?

I did notice a couple of those when Designing Women and GG both aired on Lifetime.
