HEAD (prod. #8888), the 1968 Columbia Picture starring that popular TV rockband The Monkees, had its television broadcast premiere. CBS, which aired repeats of The Monkees TV series on its Saturday Afternoon schedule from 1969 to 1972, aired the movie across-the-board @ 11:30 Eastern/10:30 Central as part of its CBS Late Movie, opposite The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson on NBC and The Gator Bowl (Texas Longhorns versus Auburn Tigers) on ABC.

The Monkees was preempted on NBC by The Orange Bowl (Tennessee Versus Oklahoma).
