Dear Nick at Nite Viewer Services,
I have a proposal for Nick at Nite: to make a deal with Buena Vista Television for Nick at Nite to have exclusivity in airing basic cable repeats of a series I'm surprised has NEVER seen the light of day on Nick at Nite -- "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," the hit 1952-1966 sitcom that served as the real-life Nelson family -- Ozzie, Harriet, David, & Ricky -- on the air. The series was also seen on radio from 1944-1954 -- the last 2 of which the series was also seen on the then-new medium of television. The fictional Nelsons resided on TV at 822 Sycamore Road in Hillsdale, with Ozzie having no defined source of financial income and Harriet being the typical 1950s sitcom housewife of 2 teen boys ages 12 and 15 in real life at the time the series transferred from radio to television. Within time, both David and Ricky were married, and both real-life wives, June Blair & Kris Harmon, both appeared as regulars on the show afterwards. In the years since "Ozzie & Harriet" bid adieu to television in 1966, a number of real-life events, both tragic and great, occurred--for starters: in 1967, Kris & Ricky gave their then 4-year-old daughter Tracy twin brothers in Matthew and Gunnar, who would become one-hit wonders on the record charts with "Love & Affection" in 1990; eventually, they became parents of a 4th child, Sam, & divorced in 1981, after which Kris's younger brother, Mark (YES, of CBS's "NCIS") became legal guardian of his nephew Sam Nelson. Soon after Matt & Gunn voluntarily moved back with their dad, on New Year's Eve, 1985, in DeKalb, Texas, Ricky was killed in a plane crash at the terribly young age of 45; Ozzie died of cancer in 1975 at age 68; and Harriet died of natural causes in 1994, at age 85, thus with David Ozzie Nelson, now age 73, the only original surviving Nelson family member of the show. Tentatively, Nick at Nite shall welcome "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" to its regular lineup starting Sunday, October 3, 2010 (58 years to the day of the series' debut) with a 5-night marathon featuring 50 episodes (10 per night) showcasing some of the most memorable episodes in the show's 14-year, 435-episode history, complete, uncut, & unedited, just the way that they originally aired on the ABC Television Network. After the marathon, Nick at Nite shall welcome the series as a permanent resident to its regular lineup by airing weeknights from 9-10 p.m. ET/PT. Sincerely, Grundoon Katt |

First off, Buena Vista Television does not hold the rights-syndication or other to Ozzie & Harriet.
And secondly, Nick @ Nite and it's sister channel, TV Land will not consider adding Ozzie & Harriet.....this I can guarantee. |

Nick @ Nite and TVLAND are SO over airing the classics.
TV LAND especially has moved about as far from their original premise as possible. |

You'd have a better shot at getting Retro Television Network (http://www.rtnville.com) to air the show. TVLand and Nick at Nite are done with 50's/60's tv. They think old tv is stuff from the 90's.

TV dosent care about the classics anymore. The only way to enjoy good TV (which is pre 1970's TV) is to buy the DVD's.
