Stock Footage in The Fall Guy
In the opening credits for The Fall Guy, in his “The Unknown Stuntman” song Colt Seavers laments over the fact that he doesn’t get any fame and recognition. He references famous celebrities like Robert Redford and Clint Eastwood.
But what is rather ironic is that for many of the scenes the Fall Guy, stock footage is used and in several scenes, it’s not Lee Majors who is doing the scene but instead, it’s simply borrowed from other actors. Good examples of stock footage include, in the opening scenes:1. The yellow car crashing into the train is the last scene from the movie Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. Lee Majors should be grateful to actor Peter Fonda. 2. The two men jumping from a cliff into a river is from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I hope Lee Majors said thanks to actor Paul Newman before he died. 3. The man on the train roof is from Silver Streak. Lee Majors owes one to actor Gene Wilder. What other stock footage was used in the series? |
