Default Need Help Identifying A Sitcom

I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong place, I've never posted here before, but I need some help badly!

My friends and I are trying to figure out which sitcom this is from:

At the end of the opening credits, the family is sitting on a couch, and someone (we think it is the father) is fiddling around with a camera to set a self-timer. The people are the couch are gesturing and telling him to hurry up and get in the picture.

We're thinking that it is from the late 80's or the early 90's.

It is NOT Charles in Charge, although it is similar to the ending of those credits. Other popular opinions have been Family Ties and Growing Pains, but we're 99% sure it is not either of those.

I know this is very silly, but it's driving me NUTS. If anyone knows what it is, I will be very thankful!

One Day At A Time did the picture thing in the opening credits. Is that the show you're thinkin of?

Hm, that is not actually what I was thinking of, BUT, it is incredibly similar. So we're on the right track at least! I think the show I'm thinking of was a little more recent.

Great question! I initially thought of Growing Pains, but that's not it. I can kind of picture it in my mind.

Just because you're not getting responses doesn't mean we're not working on i! I am very interested to know the answer. Hopefully someone will come through.

Unfortunately there are a lot of sitcoms with a family sitting on a couch. That's probably where the Simpson's variations stemmed from.

Thank you so much! Isn't it annoying? Everyone I talk to says they can picture it, but then we can't identify it!

i know i've seen it before myself, but cannot for the life of me figure out what it is... it's driving me nuts now too because i know i've seen this a million times, so it must be a show that i've watched. hmmm.... could it be "Just The Ten Of Us" or "Family Matters"?

I don't THINK it's either of those, only because, like you, I believe this is a show I watched all of the time, and I didn't watch either of those shows regularly.

well i know it's not "Home Improvement" or "Who's The Boss?". I'm fairly sure it's not "Webster" or "Punky Brewster".

ALF did the whole "self-timing camera" thing, but they were outside, and it was ALF who set the timer.

The Nanny also did it, but that was animated.
