Default What are your Best/Worst things of 2009?

The Best of 2009 for me:
Seeing Keith Urban in concert
Going to Savannah/Hilton Head & St. Simons Island, GA over the Summer
They had a new hotel in VA from where my family lives at and we went to it.
Going to see the Nutcracker tonight.
Finally, getting some new furniture and a new blu-ray DVD player

The Worst of 2009 for me:
When I broken my toes while going down the stairs, which somehow I had slip or fallen down the stairs and my toes hit the steps or the rail.
Having hail damage in Fayetteville, GA which the good thing was I got a new roof.
Bea Arthur from "The Golden Girls" who died on Apr. 25 from cancer.
Atlanta got flooded in some of the cities in Georgia.

Man this year went by fast.

The one really good thing that happened to me was that I was gainfully employed for just about the entire year, which hasn't happened for a long time. It was good to be able to pay bills and have a little extra money saved.
Another good thing is my brother in law finally found a new job after several months of looking. We're all very happy for him.

Bad things? Luckily there have been only a few. My Dad has been having some health problems this year, he's had two kidney stone procedures and a messy gall bladder operation. He's a tough dude, but I don't like that he's been laid up a lot this year.

The other thing that has really made me sad this year was my local bar Conker Hill closed down recently. I really miss going there and hanging out with my friends, and i feel like a part of my life is over because we'll probably never be together like that again.

But, if that's the worst thing that happened to me this year, I consider myself blessed.

Cool

Best:
1)That I still have a place to live, when so many other people are losing their residences.
2)Seeing my brother 3 times in the past month. He lives in Raleigh, NC. I don't get to see him as much.
3)Seeing my family in NJ at Thanksgiving. Always love seeing my aunt and cousins.
4)Seeing my favorite band, Dream Theater, 9 times this past summer. I got to talk to them a few times, even went to see them on the last show on the tour in LA. I was right up front(after just ordering my ticket a few days before that!!), and Steve Vai showed up and played on stage!! Awesome!!
5)Also being able to see all my other concerts - Metallica, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, U2, Pat Benatar, Alice Cooper, Eagles, Reo Speedwagon, Styx
6)Meeting Robin Williams and Roger Daltrey!! In one week!! The best week ever!!

Worst:
1)Losing my dog, Penny, the other day.
2)My mom, and her dogs getting attacked by pit bulls, where one of her dogs, Oscar, was killed.
3)Freight going way down to where I'm not working as much. I guess I should just be happy I even have a job.

BEST:

1. Finally landing a job after seven months of looking.
2. The Yankees winning their 27th World Series.
3. The "Star Trek" movie.

WORST:

1. Still having not much money having to catch up on bills. I'm not going to be a Santa Claus this year.
2. Missing out on my usual Star Trek/Sci-Fi cons I attend every year due to the above reason (Shore Leave, I-con and Megafest).
3. My roommate just lost his job.

Overall, 2009 was mixed for me. Hopefully 2010 will be better.

Worst

Jan-May-Losing money to support my parents (Call me greedy, but now I'll just stay on their insurance until what they owe me is paid off).
Jun-Jul-Bad Summer Weather and the car I was supposed to get got into an accident.
Aug-Bus Fare goes up and I miss out in Traditions that I would do that month.
Sep-Dec-The Job Helpers weren't any help, my Grandma had to go in to the hospital, no sign of getting a car, and now I got a 20% cut out of my paycheck. I think God hated me this year or he's just ignoring me.

Best

I got my Drivers License...but it's STILL pointless.

Hmmm...

Bad:
- Not getting any hours at my last job - making so little money that I had to move back in with my mom (end of 08).
- Having a lot of issues with social security disability (LONG, boring story that I'm not gonna tell).
- Having a VERY nasty falling out with this guy I'd been friends with for two years. Really ****ing hurt. What an *******.

Good:
- I got to leave my job when the current one I have took me on full-time.
- I flew for the first time by myself earlier this year.
- I'm finally making money.
- I'm traveling again after Christmas. Woo!
- Buying my very own laptop.

Best

1. Getting a job/income coming in
2. Making tons of new friends on Facebook in particular and having great chats at night with other friends

Worst

1. Money problems the first half of the year
2. Sucky parents driving me into a hole
3. College not working out
4. My traffic troubles(tickets, probation, and now a wreck tonight)

Not a very good year but the last 3 months have been tons better than the first 9. I have real reason for optimism in 2010.
