Question At Times, Doesn't It.........

Doesn't this show kind freak you out? The music and that host.....sometimes it seems like he killed them and he's telling it to the bartender (Camera)

Well that's certainly a way to look at it

When I was a kid I watched the show on NBC and sometimes I couldn't sleep at night. Later on when Lifetime would show repeats late at night I'd watch and then every bump in the night would have me turning my head.

To quote the guy from the general Wayne inn segment: calm down these things happen around here just relax...

I definitely would have suspected Robert Stack if Kevin and Bean had turned up missing.

You guys are killing me! This a funny thread. I grew up without TV so I first saw Robert Stack on a commercial in the mid 1980s. I don't remember the product but he gave it credibility. My friends couldn't believe I hadn't seen him in 12 O'Clock High etc.

Sean Snow is absolutely right! Robert Stack transported the Bogart, Mitchum black and white film "Noir" to color TV.

How in the hell did those two not get fired for that? They were a new show, having been on the air for about a year at that point. Even with great ratings in a huge market.. It's astounding they didn't get canned.

Bean Baxter retired in 2019.. Kevin did the show 'solo' for like 3 months before he was fired.. Got another show on KLOS with the guy who was the caller in that hoax, Doug "Sluggo" Roberts.. They were fired after about 3 years.

Doug Roberts is on SiriusXM on First Wave, Lithium and a few other channels.

I suppose at least they didn't send listeners into a church to have sex. Don't tick off the Catholics.

Wow! I didn't even notice it until you mentioned the date. This thread sat untouched since pre-9/11!

He was only 11 when he started this thread, and didn't get a reply until he was 35.

That's an even longer time period than the "message in a bottle" UM segment.

Maybe I'm more sensitive these days, but I used to be able to watch true crime before bed late at night, including UM. Now? No way. I get that people might say, "Oh, it's just a show." No. "Law & Order" is a TV show where nobody actually died.

😂 I was 20 when I made my first post here. (April 1st, 2000)

Today is my 45th birthday. That seems kind of crazy. I’ve been in this neighborhood for quite a while.
