John Lennon Killed 29 Years Ago Today - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

It was on this day in 1980 that John Lennon was murdered by Mark David Chapman in front of ther Dakoda apartment building in New York City. John had recenly released Double Fantasy, his best album since Imagine. I know for us fans he will live on through his music and message.

Yes, I remember that day. A shocking, senseless crime and a huge loss to
the entertainment world. I found out when I picked up the daily newspaper
and at the top of the front page, above the banner, was John's picture and
the words: "The Dream Is Over."

In an interesting twist its also the birthdays of Gregg Allman, Jerry Butler and (oh gosh), Jim Morrison.
