Drool Eli Manning to Dallas Cowboys: "You'll get over it"

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning acknowledged Thursday that the autograph on the wall of the visiting locker room at Cowboys Stadium is authentic.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bradie James considers the signature a form of taunting, much like Giants running back Brandon Jacobs' postgame dance on the star at midfield after New York's 33-31 victory in the grand opening of the $1.2 billion stadium. The autograph was accompanied by the score of the game and "First win in the New Stadium."

"We won't forget that," said James, a defensive captain who ranted Wednesday about his dislike of the Giants. "It just makes for a more intense game."

Manning confirmed that the signature was his, but he said he didn't intend the autograph as a taunt. He said he just granted the request of a locker room attendant.

"Yeah, it's a pretty common thing," Manning told reporters at the Giants' practice facility. "I was asked to sign it, it wasn't like I just went there and signed it. I didn't have a pen on me or anything. It was all supplied."

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he "didn't think it was a great thing to do" and seemed puzzled by Manning's explanation.

"Things come back around in this league," Phillips said.

Manning did not seem concerned when told that the Cowboys were using his autograph as motivational fodder.

"Yeah, I kind of heard a few things about it,'' Manning said. "I figure they'll eventually get over it."

That's kind of cool, IMO! Strange, but cool. It sounds like it's just commemorating the first win in the new stadium, like it says. Wrong team, though! Well, if anything it will just push the Cowboys harder to beat NY!

As long as the Cowboys keep laying down in December, teams are going to talk. This should motivate them but we'll see. It's put up or shut up. The season starts tomorrow.

I'm sorry, but every time I see Eli Manning's name, I remember that hilarious news story that came out a couple of years ago (maybe sooner) where the Green Bay station pre-empted "Seinfeld" so that it would tick of Eli Manning and his teammates who liked to watch Seinfeld in their hotel room. Jerry himself got wind of this and sent Eli the entire DVD set!! I about died laughing when I heard that! Leave it to Jerry to do something like that!!!

Eli is such a wannabe bad ass, but in a way, he's endearing haha I'd shoot the breeze with him.

Well Eli sure looked great at the end of the half. Way to go Cowboys. It's nice to know that you haven't learned anything from past Decembers.

Yep I agree. December is here. I don't see the Cowboys beating the Chargers or the Saints during the next 2 weeks. After the way the Redskins have been playing lately, that game isn't even a given.

I see them losing all 4 and Romo still being the starter next year
