How do you sign your cards and letters? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Professional corrospondence gets the usual, "Sincerely". I'll be writing my Christmas cards shortly, and they get signed according to the level of closeness - Fondly, With deepest regards, Love, etc. I get stuck sometimes. For example, if I'm not comfortable signing a card with "Love", but "Fondly" doesn't cut it, I sometimes find myself staring at a card with pen in hand, lol. How about you?

I have been in that situation before Janice. I think I just left the salutation out and signed just my name.

I skip the ending entirely and just put down a dash, followed by my first name. It's just too weird to me if I do otherwise.

It depends on who the card or letter is for. If it's for a family member or close friend I'll write love. Some friends I'll write sincerely. Then there are some that from is what is appropriate.

For friends and family, I'll sign it "love", but otherwise I'll just sign my name or say "Happy Holidays" (assuming it's around Christmas time!)

For friends it's usually from.
If it's family I'll put love depending on who it is.
If it's professional sincerely.

How I close my letters depends on to whom I'm writing. btw, the SALUTATION is the beginning of a letter "Dear" etc.

No kidding. The closing of a letter is called a SALUATION as well.

Sorry you are incorrect. The closing of a letter is called the closing. Here's an example of the parts of a business letter. The greeting is the SALUTATION (salute or "HELLO"). http://www.cyberbee.com/science/letpart.html

No, I am not incorrect. Tons of similiar examples on the internet, but here's just one; however, this ends it. The topic isn't the structure of letters. It's how people sign cards or letters.
