Adam Lambert did push the envelope with his performance at the AMA's, but he also brought out how anti-male the world is because of the negative reaction to his sexually charged performance and how it was censored. Meanwhile, we see Britney Spears shaking her T & A all the time on TV, whether we want to or not, and we see Christina Aguilera gyrating herself all over men (and women), yet a guy goes to that level and he gets censored. That is sexist and discriminatory against men. Now, let's go on to talk about how violence against men at the hands of women is so highly acceptable, male-bashing is a part of popular culture, men are expected to be bossed around by women, single men are labeled "irresponsible" and "lazy" while single women are seen as strong and independent, and basically the anti-male/pro-female world we currently live in. Keep in mind that I am by no means a woman-hater, or anti-female. I just happen to hate any kind of sexual discrimination and feel that we live in a world that suddenly thrives on discriminating against men.

I don't think I've ever seen Britney or Christina shove their crotch in someone's face... there's a difference between putting on a performance and doing something stupid to get attention. Lambert did the latter. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. He'll be forgotten about this time next year.

Britney and Christina were established, successful singers before their controversial perfomance with Madonna on MTV. Adam's performance was to get his name in the news - mission accomplished.

Word to Squeegee. He's still such a polarizing performer. People either like his shrieking lunacy or hate it. I still hate it, which is a shame, because I've long waited for an over-the-top, campy LGBT male artist to take the pop culture world by storm. It's unfortunate that it had to be his lame ass.

he is all about controversy, he does things to get his name in the media and to look like a ~rebel~. unfortunately for him, sure his name is in the media but he's turned a lot more people off with this then he has on. i don't care what they say, not all press is good press. he has lost a lot of fans over this and turned off a good deal of the general public. way to go adam. |

I think that was one of the nastiest, dumbest performances I have EVER seen.
I agree, Lambert should have notified ABC what was going to happen BEFORE the performance. I was never a fan of his, not my style of music....but that was one of the craziest performances ever. Makes Britney's 2007 VMA one look good. |

Ever since his god awful version of Ring of Fire on Idol,
I can't stand him. I wanted to shove pencils in my ears to block out the pain.

Remember that episode of Sliders where men were the weaker sex?
Are we suddenly on that version of Earth somehow, because the last I knew, men, even gay ones, seem to still have more power than women. When did this become such a scandal? Hellooooooooo guys like George Michael were pulling this crap ages ago. GTFO, Lambbait. |
