Eek Adopted Son Searches for His biological Dad only to find out he's Charles Manson!!!

Matthew Roberts, now 41, was given up for adoption as a baby. Growing up in Rockford, Ill., he didn’t know he was adopted until his sister told him in fifth grade and it shocked him.

Like many adopted children, Matthew embarked on a mission to find his biological parents. He wanted to know, most especially, his father and see if there is any identity of him in what the son has become today.

Matthew, who now lives in Los Angeles, started his search 12 years ago when he contacted the Lutheran Social Services agency that located his mother, Terry, in Wisconsin.

He wrote to her immediately and got back an answer from her confirming she is his mother.

“She said she named me Lawrence Alexander and told me she’d tell me my last name some other time in person,” Matthew remembers.

Curious and confused, he pressed his mother for more information until she finally revealed the awful truth in a series of letters. She admitted having been raped by his father in a drug-fueled orgy in 1967.

Matthew, who is the spitting image of his serial killer-father, Charles Manson, is said to have fallen into depression after discovering his identity.

“He’s my biological father – I can’t help but have some kind of emotional connection. That’s the hardest thing of all – feeling love for a monster who raped my mother,” Matthew said.

Yeah, I heard about this in the morning. Wow.

I wouldn't be surprised if Manson has more children out there; the family had these orgies a lot.

Manson ordered his female followers to get pregnant and the ordered. Susan Atkins, and several other of the girls all had children. Most of those children ended up in foster homes and were later adopted, so there are probably several adults out there whose natural parents are Manson and some of the other family members.

Eek

Poor guy. The good thing is it seems like he was raised in a good family. I know I would be freaked out if I learned my bio dad was Charles Manson!!

I remember reading an article a couple of years back where Susan Atkins said she was told there was a big chance that her son's adoption records were permently sealed. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more people out there who were children of Manson and other members. It seems Manson's son was raised well but he is probably conflicted over what Manson did.

Yes, but Susan Atkins's son was not fathered by Charlie. At least that's what she said. She did allow him to name the baby though - Zezosoze Zadfrack Glutz - later renamed, supposedly "Paul." (Also the name Roman chose for his & Sharon's baby). Before Atkins died she said she didn't know if her son knew about her, but was happy that her crimes would never touch him. I wouldn't want to find out she was my mother either.

Matthew does look a LOT like his father. That does really suck. But at least he can say that he's grown into a fine upstanding citizen and his genes haven't defined him.

I don't think there's a resemblance at all. Also, I'm surprised that he feels love for this monster who raped his mother and commited all of the other unspeakable crimes. Everyone's different, I guess, but I couldn't love a person who is capable of such atrocites, bio-father or not. Chucky is bat sh*t crazy too.

I can understand why he feels love for him. I love my biological grandfather, although I don't know who he is. He got my grandmother pregnant and abandoned her in the early 50s to move to Canada. But despite what he did, he's still a part of who I am. I owe my existence to him. I don't know if I'll ever meet him, I don't intend to seek him out, but you can't help but love someone who's responsible for your being on this planet.

Like I said, everyone's different. I would have no problem not feeling any love for Charles Manson, even if he was my father. Too many people are not on this planet because of him. Most of these creeps aren't feeling the love and don't want to be found anyway.

I think that's easier said than done. I don't think you truly know how you'd feel if you found out such a thing about your past. If I found out my biological grandfather was, say, Ted Bundy - I'd have all sorts of conflicting emotions. Maybe you have to come from a past with some mystery to understand what he's going through.

I don't know if my biological grandfather was a mass murderer or the prime minister of Canada. I don't know. He could be anything. I like to think he's just a normal everyday guy, but I have no way of knowing. But I love him anyways, just for being a part of my own father and myself. Without him I wouldn't live. That's the unconditional love you feel for your family, no matter what they may have done or not done or who they really are.

I do know. No mass murderers in my past, but there's a story that I'm not divulging here which proves my point. Someone who I know is out there that I never bothered to find.
