Default Boat propeller victim?

Anyone remember the segment about the girl who was out boating when another boat rammed them and cut her face? This segment has stuck with me for some reason, very sad. Just curious if there have been any updates. Thanks

The last time I saw it on Lifetime, a few years ago, there wasn't one. I was pretty POed at that. I really hope they've caught the bastard.

Isn't this the case where they're pretty certain it was Dennis Rodman's boat and just don't have enough evidence about who was on it?

WOW! The circumstances definitely sound similar. They never had that angle on UM, and I'd never heard about it. That's F'd up if it is.

Interesting that there is a possible connection to Dennis Rodman of all people.

I googled the names and came up with this thread from Websleuths from this past Summer. A quote from a woman who responded...

"My husband worked with a neighbor of Dennis Rodman. He had a boat matching the description and it disappeared at the time of the accident. I reported this to the police and they told me he was a suspect early on. I did not ask if he were ruled out. If I were with Dennis Rodman Id be intimidated not to tell.

It's sickening if he is somehow involved and isn't saying anything. He always rubbed me the wrong way, so I never liked him, but I never thought he'd be THAT much of an A-hole.

You have GOT to be effing kidding me! Man, this guy becomes more and more of a prince as the years go by. To be fair, the rumors (on Websleuths) are that he wasn't actually on the boat at the time, but that doesn't mean he didn't know what happened. I tried to read the LA Times article, but the archives are down for maintenance right now. Argh!

This is the ONE segment on Unsolved Mysteries that I saw once and will never watch again because it was so disturbing. I wonder how some people sleep at night.

As much as I couldn't stand Rodman when he was a player. It is important to keep in mind that Rodman may have no knowledge of what happened on that boat.

Considering how large entourages are..
1. Someone in his entourage may have borrowed the boat to entertain someone young girl and did the act without Rodman even being on the boat. he could have simply lied to Rodman about what happened to the boat and made up some excuse that they should trade it in.
2. It's quite possible that his agent, lawyers and other people did behind the scenes handling of the whole incident. As crazy as it sounds, Rodman may have not even had a say in what happens. That's how agent-client relationship works.
3. You have to consider the type of people that might be in that entourage. Drug dealers and gang members. The type of people that may not be willing
4. If Rodman was on the boat, he most likely was not even piloting the thing.
5. It should also be pointed out that his boat might have been stolen or used by the captain or caretaker for illegal means.

I'm not exonerating Rodman here, I'm just showing how this situation is not as clear cut as 'Dennis Rodman' did it.

He probably wasn't there and may not have known who was, but I suspect he'd know if his boat suddenly no longer existed.

That's my point. If this was his boat, he may not have been there, but he would have to know SOMETHING. I mean, you don't just go without noticing "hey, I used to have a boat, and now it's gone."

Celebrities are weird people. They don't value things the same way we do. For someone with his assets, losing a boat is not as huge a loss for him. He probably didn't think twice about it and just said 'oh, the boat is damaged. OK, buy another one. Take care of it. Let me get back to my girlfriends. Heck, the only thing Dennis probably did was ride on that boat. he probably didn't buy it, maintain it, pilot it, or sell it. That was all taken care of by someone else.

Heck they probably could have changed the boat and Dennis wouldn;t have known. He wasn't the most attentive guy in the world.

They probably told him that the boat was out of style and they could get another boat. All Dennis probably did was say 'Fine, whatever".

Agreed he could not have been piloting the thing. The pilot seems to have been glimpsed at least in outline and Rodman would have been too easily identified by his hair. This is one terribly disturbing case I think of from time to time.

If I seem to remember, Rodman was sporting canary yellow hair during his San Antonio Spurs days. Easy to spot in the dark.

This seg always hit me close to home. I've been on lake lewisvile countless times, capmping, boating, and jet skiing. I have family that practically lives at the lake on holiday weekends. So the segment caught me off guard when I first saw it. The suspect descriptions just don't match rodman at all so I highly doubt that he was on the boat. I have more of a problem with the 2 boaters who did not come forward. I wonder who the caller was who claimed to know more about it?

Doesn't he change his hair color like every week?
