ABC moves 'Lost' to Tuesdays Beginning Feb, 2nd

ABC has found a new home for "Lost": Tuesdays at 9 p.m., starting Feb. 2.
Show's final season will launch there with a two hour episode, dubbed "LA X," preceded by a one-hour clip special at 8 p.m.

The following week, on Feb. 9, "Lost" settles into its regular time slot.

ABC is still mulling the rest of its midseason schedule, but it's believed that the return of frosh sci-fi entry "V" will take over the Tuesday 10 p.m. slot behind "Lost."

"Lost" has bounced around the ABC schedule throughout its run, having aired in slots as varied as Wednesday at 9 p.m. (its most consistent home), Thursdays at 10 p.m. and Wednesdays at 8 p.m.

But with ABC's Wednesday night block of laffers working well for the Alphabet this season, the net didn't want to mess with that night.

And "Lost" exec producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof aren't fans of airing the show at 10 p.m., which ruled out Thursday night.

With reality entries "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Bachelor" taking up Monday, that left Tuesday.

It was a no-brainer for the net: Tuesdays have been a weak link in the net's performance this weekend.

Plus, the final season of "Lost" may prove to be a formidable performer for ABC vs. Fox's "American Idol" juggernaut.

ABC will need all the hype it can squeeze from "Lost" in February, as the show will also go up against NBC's coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In its announcement, ABC also revealed the roster of this season's regular stars: Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Emile de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Jeff Fahey, Matthew Fox, Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Ken Leung, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O'Quinn and Zuleikha Robinson.

Bryan Burk, Jack Bender, Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz and Jean Higgins also EP "Lost" with Lindelof and Cuse.
