Default Thunder Alley

Okay, this is a Two-Year Wonder, but this show was created by the same people who made Home Improvement. It starred Ed Asner and Haley Joel Osment.

Despite being a successful show...ABC cancelled the show to aim less from family shows....Bad Idea!

I loved that show - it debuted in the spring of 1994, along with two of my other teenage faves, Sister Sister and Christy. I loved Ed Asner in the main role and Haley Joel was pretty good, too.

I loved this show. It is too bad it only lasted two short seasons.

I know - I think it had to potential to go quite a bit longer. Wasn't the mother played by two different actresses?

It was Felicity Huffman in the unaired pilot.

Diane Venora was for the first eight episodes later replaced by Robin Riker for the series' remainder.

Thank you! I had no idea that Felicity Huffman was even (if briefly) involved in Thunder Alley. You really do learn something new every day!!

I kind of thought Diane Venora was better in the role as the mom. She had a great comedic timing with Ed Asner.

So did I. She was sarcastic but not mean-spirited, and sharp as a tack. She went toe-to-toe with Ed Asner and never missed a beat. I wonder whatever happened to her, anyway?

Nothing big but she has appeared in lots of movie/tv bit parts since.
