Default Nick at Nite Requests

Dear Nick at Nite Viewer Services,

I have a slew of shows in mind that I believe would make great additions to the Nick at Nite lineup in 2010 starting this January, after the new year.

First up: "Dream On," the hit 1990-1996 sitcom created by acclaimed film director John Landis, which focused on Martin Tupper (played by Brian Benben), a recently divorced 32-year-old New York City book editor who shared custody with his wife of 12 years, Judith (played by Wendie Malick), of their teenage son Jeremy (played by Chris Demetral). Martin's best friend was Eddie Charles (played by Denny Dillon), his secretary was Toby Pedalbee (played by Denny Dillon), and employer was Gibby Fiske (played by Michael McKean). "Dream On" was produced by Bright-Kauffman-Crane Productions in association with Universal Studios Television and NBC Universal Television.

Next up: "Night Court," the hit 1984-1992 sitcom that starred Harry Anderson as Judge Harry T. Stone, the local district court judge of New York City's Manhattan Night Court. His employees included Dan Fielding (played by John Larroquette), the assistant D.A.; Bull Shannon (played by Richard Moll), the bailiff; and Roz Russell (played by Marsha Warfield), the court matron. Nick at Nite and TV Land shall share the rights to "Night Court," with TV Land airing it in the afternoons and Nick at Nite airing it at night. "Night Court" was produced by Starry Night Productions in association with Warner Bros. TV.

Next up: "Married...With Children," the rights of which shall be shared with TBS & TV Land, with TV Land airing it weekday afternoons, TBS airing it in the mornings, and Nick at Nite airing it at night. The groundbreaking 1987-1997 sitcom focused on the Bundy family of Chicago, Illinois who lived at 9674 Jeopardy Lane--Al (played by Ed O'Neill), a hapless shoe salesman; Peg (played by Katey Sagal), a slob; teenager Kelly (played by Christina Applegate), a bimbo; and 11-year-old Bud (played by David Faustino), the horndog. The series was produced by Columbia Pictures Television.

Next up: "The Larry Sanders Show," the hit 1992-1998 sitcom created by Garry Shandling, who cast himself as Larry Sanders, the host of a fictional late night talk-show broadcast on a major network. This series was produced by Brillstein-Grey Entertainment in association with Columbia Pictures TV.

Sincerely,
Grundoon Katt

My Opinion...

Have the Classics Back! Heck, make it a mixed-bag. "I Love Lucy", "The Honeymooners", "Dick van Dyke", "Andy Griffith", "Get Smart", any sitcom from 1950 to 2000...and end it by 2000. No "George Lopez" or "Fresh Prince" since that show is on every damn station...or so it seems.

Better yet, Nick at Nite go back to the way you were in the late 80's when not a pre 1970's show was seen in sight.

Here are my picks for shows i think N@N should show:

"Grace Under Fire": First of all, i love this sitcom. It starred Brett Butler as a recovering acholic raising three children and trying to find love. She was fantastic and the show was hilarious. It was a big hit in the 90's when it aired on ABC after "Home Improvement" and "Roseanne". "Roseanne" was a big hit for N@N and i think "Grace" could be as well.

"Hope & Faith": I think it's a show that fits well with the Mordern Comedy theme and it's tone would match that of the other shows on N@N.

"Sister Sister": i think this show would be a perfect fit.

I'd like it if N@N decided to bring back the late 80s sitcom "Head of the Class" to its schedule (I hear they aired it around early 2003, even though the last time I saw it rerun anywhere was on a local station where I was living at the time in early 1995.)

Some shows that I think would be good on Nick at nite are:

- Boy Meets World
- Spin City
- The Hogan Family
- Dave's World
- Silver Spoons (maybe)

I really wish they would start airing Growing Pains again, and at least air every episode before dropping it.

I would also love if they picked up:

- Brotherly Love
- Muppets Tonight
- Adventures In Wonderland
- Walker Texas Ranger
- Whose Line Is It Anyway

but I know they never will!

Did they do NewsRadio already or was that TV Land or someone else altogether cuz that would/should be a good fit before Nanny, for example.

Nope, neither have ever had NewsRadio. Last I recall of it nationally was on WGN as a filler.

It'd be great for TV Land in the evenings, IMO. NAN, I'm not sure (it may be too old for them, lol). It's very cheap probably through program Exchange.

Nope you are incorrect. Newsradio did air breifly on Nick at Nite in 2006, but it only lasted a few months before being dropped. It also aired on A&E for a few years.

First, theire one deadweight shows you should get rid of.

1. Roseanne - It's been on since about 2003, i've seen about evey singe episode about 20 times or so i'm just sick of it already. pleause do us all a favor adn Get Rid Of It.

Second, you guys sould add some family related shows on their that the hole faimly can gater around and watch and Enjoy. Few Sudgestions...

1. According To Jim - The Only Other Cable Chanell It's Currently Airing On Is TBS, and locally in syndication. It's A Grat Faimly Show and would fit right in next to George Lopez. Maybe Take Over Malcoms Place, Put Malcom Where The Nanny Is And Move That Up an Hour.

2. Everybody Loves Raymond - Just The Type Of Show For You Guys. Perfect Possilbe Replacement for Rossane. It's a great family show, and better off yet, it has 210 episodes so that would be on for a long time to come.

3. Just Shoot Me - TV Classic From The 90's. Bring Nick At Night Back To It's Former Glory With Classic Sitcoms. Bring ON Just Shoot Me.

4. Married With Children - OK, it is a little edgy at some points, expecally with younger children watching Nick At Night, But Overall It Is A Great Classic Show Of The 80's And Very Popular On Spike, TV Land, And TBS. But It Might Acually Be A Bad Desision because Of TV Land Airing It IN Prime Time. So i Would Pass On That.

-----------------

My Personal Choice Here. According To Jim. Both This And George Lopez have many simalarities to them and a perfect runner up for it. I Would Put Jim ON At 8, leave George Lpes At 9, Put Malcom At 10, Put Nanny At 11, Bring Chris ON At 12. And Then At 1, you guys would go thru it all over again. Jim at 1, George at 2, malcom at 3, nanny at 4, and chris at 5. Perfect scdule here if i may say so myself.

But Rely Go With Jim. Fit Perfectly Into The Lineup!!!!
