For the longest time, I have been trying to stimulate some conversation about the third season episode "Samantha's Protest". As far as I can remember, only two fellow posters have offered their words of wizdom on the topic. One was a female poster who said that it was great when Samantha burst Katie's bubble at the end of the episode! The other was a male poster who said that he loved the look on Katie's face when Samantha spoke the words, "he's taking 'me' to a movie tomorrow"! The he that she was reffering to was the handsome boy from the protest who Katie flurted her butt off with! I will agree with this poster that the look on Katie's face at the point was pretty priceless! Now I would like to write about other facial expressions that took place throughout the episode.
Let us start at the protest when the police chief and his second-in-command try to convince the protesters (Samantha being one of them) to leave. Samantha refuses to budge and Nell feels obligated to stay with her. Julie responds to the situation with "my place is with my sister"! Good for you Julie! At the point in which Julie stands next to Samantha, Katie says "she's my sister too"! While saying this, she is looking at the handsome boy from the protest who she and Julie had passed on their morning stroll. She then stands between Julie and the boy and says "in that outfit, you look just like Eric Estrada"! At this point, Julie turns her head in disgust. You can tell by the look on her face, that she already feels like barfing! Nell tells all of the protesters to lock arms and Katie uses both of her arms to grab both of the boy's! She then positions herself so that her bosoms are up against his upper body and her crotch is leaning against his leg. At this point we see a big look of joy on Katie's face! This personal message, however only lasts a few seconds! This is because a very disgusted Julie grabs one of Katie's arms and says "like this Katie"! Now Katie is facing in the same direction as the other protesters. At this point, Julie looks over Samantha who Nell is on the other side of and says, "that is absolutely disgusting"! I loved Julie's sense of decency and sophistication! Throughout their time at the police station and even in the jail cell, Katie sticks to the boy like glue. Some girls never give up! Now let us fast-forward to their time at the house after the protest. After all is said and done, Samantha, very cleverly says that the boy from the protest said that he never thought he would meet a girl who he wanted to date in jail. This caused a very conceted Katie to say "did you here that Julie"? It is at this point that Samantha says that he is taking her to a movie the next day! In addition to the look of disbelief on Katie's face, we also get to see the big smile on Julie's! What a lovey set of pearly whites! |
