Question about "Fred and Ethel fight" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hey, I was just wondering. Yesterday evening I was watching the episode "Fred and Ethel fight" from season one on DVD and got to wondering.

You know in the part where Ethel had Lucy all wrapped up in bandages from a scheme they where doing to lure Ricky back after he and Lucy had a fight the night before.

Well after Ethel helps Lucy into bed she said she had an itch and she had ethel scratch it under her arm in the back. Was this scripted or did Lucille Ball actually had an itch and she was telling Vivian to scratch it. It is sort of funny when this happens because it sounds so real you think it was scripted.

So, I was wondering was that scripted or was that a flub? Because it looks to real not to be a flub and I Love Lucy has a lot of good flubs in some episodes. This is also one of my favorite episodes. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

I think it was scripted, but I don't know for sure.
