Default Season 3

Has anyone heard news about when and if season 3 will be released? This was the first color season and I do hope they release it.

No news yet, although a few months ago I read somewhere that they are preparing it.

I hope we get Seasons 3 and 4. It would be nice to have Meredith's first season on DVD.

After that is when I believe the show started to go down hill. Bea began missing episodes and the scripts were not as interesting.

I own all the color shows on VHS from when TV Land ran them in the '90s and I have never gone back and watched them, so it's no big deal for me if Seasons 5-7 don't come out on DVD.

Kasey, thx for the information. I agree that I would like to see seasons 3 and 4 released because we get to see Bea in color and because Meredith Macrea (spelling?) is on the show by then. She was so cute! I also agree that after Bea died, the show went downhill so I also don't care about seasons 5 - 7. Thanks, Michael

Meredith MacRae didn't come on board until Season 4. But you will enjoy Gunilla Hutton as Billie Jo in her only season, 3, although she was absent for several episodes.

Cool

I hope seasons 3 and 4 come out too. I'd like to have all the seasons in which Bea Benaderet appears as a regular cast member.

Well we aren't gonna get them--at least not from CBS. I read at the Home Theater Forum that CBS has decided to remove PJ and BH from its release schedule.

OH No!!! Thats the first I've heard of that! And the 2 shows, that they did a fantastic job on too, besides The Lucy Show, by releasing whole seasons with extras! So discouraging!!!!!!

Maybe these rural sitcoms have lost a fair share of their audience, and there are not enough die hard fans buying the DVD's to support future releases of the seasons. Even with Green Acres (which I think is the best of the rural sitcoms) the DVD's stopped after season 3. I guess there's always a chance another studio can pick these series up and continue with the DVD's, Shout Factory or MPI are two that come to mind. But most likely nothing is going to happen anytime soon.

I'm sure Shout! or MPI will be riding to the rescue!

M.P.I. would be the logical one to take over TBH and PJ since they already released some of both shows. CBS should have just licensed the shows to them anyways!!!

I've been catching up on season two and have found myself thoroughly enjoyed... that said I was starting to wonder why Paramount hadn't announced season three yet. After all, though I've never seen any of the later seasons' episodes, I hear the show is at its peak in season 3 (first off it's in color and secondly, we are introduced to the Green Acres crew for the first time). I figured that PHE had stopped producing this series and TBH, so this has just confirmed my suspicions. I'm not at all surprised, but I still wish they would have stuck with it. And by the way, MPI will not continue releasing these shows because they were the ones who gave up on them in the first place--- sad but true.

Actually, MPI never had access to the whole series. The episodes they released came from Paul Henning's estate. Its not like they abandoned the series.
