A few weeks ago, Julia Louis-Dreyfus told me that when the Curb Your Enthusiasm Seinfeld reunion finally goes down (this coming Sunday!), we will learn that Elaine Benes is now a mother – and a lousy one on that. Well, over the weekend at the 3rd Annual Comedy Celebration for The Peter Boyle Memorial Fund, I caught up with Jason Alexander, who gave me a preview of what his character, George Costanza, has been up to.
Jason says, “I can tell you George has hit it bigger than any of the others.” Yay George! Time to celebrate? Not so fast. “In typical George fashion,” Jason continues, “he’s since sunk lower than them all.” Additionally, we’ll see that Jason (as Jason) will “not be too happy about Cheryl playing his ex-wife, but that will change.” When the cast assembled to shoot the Seinfeld reunion table read scene, they were joined by many of the crew from the original NBC series. “It’s not something the audience would recognize,” says Jason, “but we knew that all the people who would have been there were actually there. It was very sentimental. Larry got as many people to come back just so they could feel part of this event.” Currently, Jason is headed to Vegas with his one-man show, Donny Clay: America’s Fifth Leading Motivational Speaker. “What will really excite you about this is that it’s an evening of comedy, music, personal growth and partial nudity,” says Jason, who could see bringing this character to television, even though he already attempted a series as a motivational speaker in 2001’s short-lived Bob Patterson. And here’s a bizarre footnote. Apparently, Jason is one of Heroes’ few remaining viewers and would like to guest star on the struggling NBC series as a villain before it goes off the air. “I watch with my family, and so far, short bald guys have only been represented on the show by The Puppet Master, who came to a nefarious end,” says the actor. “It’s time to bite the bullet and create another. I’m beginning the campaign now – but I must have a power. I don’t even care if the show’s canceled, they can shoot one more scene with me!” http://tvguidemagazine.com/kecks-exc...anza-3143.html |
