Today (Nov 9th) is my grandad's 99th birthday! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Is that amazing or what? I never dreamed that one of my grandparents would live that long! I just saw him in July when I went home for my mom's wedding. He lives in an assisted living home and I had to prepare myself for the fact that he might not recognize me. Turns out he did, which is wonderful; especially since the last time I had seen him was in January of 2007.

He lives in Texas with the rest of my family and my mom told me that she was going to have a party for him today at the assisted living home. I wish I could have come and I told her that she needs to start preparing now for a big celebration next year! I'm praying that he hangs on that long and if he does, you can bet that I'll be there for that birthday bash!

Just had to share this because I thought it was so cool!

Any of you have any grandparents that are in or near triple digits?

That is cool! And I wish your Grandad a very happy 99th Birthday! My grandparents have all passed away. My Dad's mother was 93 when she passed away. The other three were in their 80's.

No, my great-grandpa and great-grandma passed away in the 1990's.

Thanks everyone! He's my only living grandparent, so having him make it to 99 is really special for me. I have soooo many memories of things that we used to do together!
