I only liked the original 1960's Star Trek with William Shatner. I hate all of these new ones like Next Generation or Deep Space Nine.

I like star Trek...I really prefer the newer eps better though...the first one is so brady bunch acting, and the special effects are not so special...the "voyager" eps seem alot more action-packed.

One of my best friends has a cardboard cutout of Picard (sp) that she puts in her dorm room. And her MN Vikings hat with the long braids and horns on his head. It's amusing. I'm not into Star Trek at all, but she is!

The original Trek had it's moments. But by and large, it was pretty bad. But when it was good, nothing else was better.

Next Gen was much more consistant, and had many more great episodes than the original Trek.

DS9 Was slow starting off, but really picked up steam when Worf came aboard. The last few seasons, when they were at War, provided some great episodes. DS9 Also has one of the top 3 Trek episodes of all time, "Far Beyond The Stars", which is only topped, Trek-wise, by "City on the Edge of Forever". And, the last season of DS9 had the cutest trek character ever... Ezri Dax!

Voyager is half crap and half passable. They've had some good moments (and a lot of Jeri Ryan wriggling around in a skintight catsuit), but there's been no one major episode which stands head and shoulders above the rest, like the other three Treks have.

Now, to wait for the new Trek series which is coming...

Cool

During the first few seasons of Star Trek/The Next Generation,I found myself preferring the original Captain Kirk generation.I suppose Picard,s crew took some getting used to.Because before I knew it,I became a way bigger fan of TNG.It is my favourite out of all Star Trek generations past and present. The episodes of the original Star Trek series of the late 1960s[possibly the last tv show done in Desilu Studios, before Desilu had been bought out by Paramount Television]look so tame and outdated,in comparison with TNG.You have to admit,Picard had a much more sophisticated Starship Enterprise[and I don,t think Kirk,s enterprise ever had any of those awsome food replicators].Not to mention,a better variety of aliens aboard. The most unusual character they ever had aboard the original starship was Mr.Spock,a Vulcan.TNG,s starship had Data,an andriod,LT. Worf,a Klingon, and Geordi LaForge[though not an alien]who wore a neat visor over his eyes.It did not surprise to see the TNG tv series last much longer than the original show.I,m glad TNG cast is still in the movies.Though for how much longer, seems kind of ify,if you know what I mean.

from what I hear, we may have seen the last of the movies with the TNG cast. Patrick Stewart said, before they started filming the last one, that it was going to be his last. Then, after they filmed it, he changed his mind and said he'd like to do another. But now he says he won't do another since the last 2 movies did so poorly at the box office.
And I think Micheal Dorn (Worf) & Brent Spinner (Data) feel the same way.

I don't like the original, TNG is the best, and my fav. DS9 and Voyager, why did they ever make it to the tv screen? Waste of airspace if you ask me.
