I was at the grocery store today. At the checkout I had Tylenol. The guy said I had to be 18. I told him I was over 18. I told him I was 31. He said I "didn't look 18." I showed him my id that proved my date of birth. I have never been questioned before when I bought Tylenol.

Certain ingredients found in Tylenol, Advil and other OTC meds are also primary ingredients for making crystal meth. Most drugstore chains and grocery stores are now asking for I.D. to purchase these items. My local CVS now keeps Advil & Tylenol behind the pharmacy counter and you have to show your I.D. to obtain them.

The office supplier I used to work for refused to sell canned air (computer duster) unless the customer was 18 - due to concerns with kids and huffing. So this kind of thing isn't really unusual. Speaking of OTC meds, have you ever noticed how much alcohol is in NyQuil, etc.? YIKES!!

I bought midol, tylenol, ect all the time when I was underage (aka last year)
I think that's really silly. |

I think if these restrictions (as annoying as they can be) prevent even one person from getting hooked on crystal meth than they're worth it.

I didn't know that, and I think it's stupid. I can understand keeping certain OTC products behind the counter, such as Sudafed (and other cold meds), but not Tylenol. Carding you for it was overboard too. Being cautious is one thing. Being paranoid is quite another.

The Tylenol issue makes absolutely no sense, You need roughly 16,560 caplets to make one ounce of meth. http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2005-.../bad-medicine/ |

They are a lot of items people are being carded now in days for various reasons. In New Mexico people under 18 can't buy spray paint due to concerns with huffing and vandalism. Some stores won't sell lighters to minors.

It depends on the brand, some were fine, but sometimes I would scan one and the register would prompt me to check the person's ID. It's pretty stupid if you ask me, LOL
