Does anyone else get them? I have been getting migraines for about 5 years or so. Do you get an aura? I have had an aura a few times, but it's rare. What are your symptoms? I get pain in the right side of my head and I sometimes get nauseous. I don't seem to have the common problem with bright lights bothering me, but smells really seem too. I once threw a magazine across the room because the perfume sample in it was driving me nuts.
What do you take for them, over the counter, prescription? I get a prescription for Fioricet, well the generic version of it anyway. It works pretty well if I take it early enough. I took some not too long ago actually. So far no migraine, yay!

I've never had a migraine but I have read many testimonials praising peppermint oil as remedy. This can be obtained at any health food store.

I get them every couple of weeks or so and they are horrible. If they're really bad, I do get nauseous and even dizzy and the lights bother me as well. I just tak regular old advil but it doesn't really work. I just kind of bear it and I'm pretty used to handling it because it's been happening since I was a kid. In fact, I didn't even realize until recently when I went to the doctor about my headaches that they were, in fact, migraines. I thought it was just an annoying case of the constant headaches.
Thanks Charles for the suggestion. I'd never heard of that before. |
