The 17th anniversary Diversity Awards on Sunday, Nov. 22, at The Beverly Hills Hotel will give its top “Favorite New Television Cast Ensemble” honor to the Fox-TV’s Glee. This comedy centered-around a bunch of drama and art school misfits and their neer-do-well teacher.
This year’s theme for the black-tie gala, sponsored by the Multicultural Motion Picture Association, is “Celebrating diversity—all the right moves, all the right talent—one star at a time!” Awards will be presented for creative accomplishment and contributions to diverse perspectives, achievement and ideas in the cinematic arts and television. The Glee cast encompasses some of those who tried out for fame and fortune on American Idol and delivers much of what this celebrity-based youth culture strives for. Other award winners include; the cast of the NBC comedy Community; the cast of ABC Family's Lincoln Heights; Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson; the cast of CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles; Heroes’ Masi Oka; the cast of Parks And Recreation; Twilight’s Justin Chon; and breakout actress Hope Wilson among others. http://67.59.172.92/article/Arts_Ent...r_Nov_22/65665 |
