I just found out today that she was in a car accident yesterday, she broke both her ankles, and shattered her knee.

She'll be in the hospital at least 6 months

I'm sorry to hear it, my prayers go out to her. Sad to say, if she'll be in the hospital for six months, she has more than a shattered knee and broken ankles, unless there was a misunderstanding. She may be in rehab for a few months.

I'm not sure what other injuries she had. My cousin(her daughter) told me about the accident, and that's all she told me. She didn't know much herself yet.

I think she was guesstimating 6 months.
