I love as Monopolies.....(Note, these may or not be actual monopolies, may just be your version of a monopoly)

1. Ice Cream(Supermarkets)= EDY's

2. Candy Bars= The Hershey Company

3. Cars=Toyota

4.Fast Food Restaurants(Burgers)=Burger King.....

5. Ice cream Shops=Dairy Queen

Sorry but NONE on your list even come close to being considered monopolies. You must have a different definition in mind.

That was exactly what I was thinking. I think this thread is actually more about your favorite brand of an item than your favorite monopoly. If it was a monopoly, there would be no other choice.

Does Sitcoms Online monopolize Internet discussion of TV sitcoms? If so, then it's my favorite monopoly.

A monopoly is when there is only one name in the market place. A oligopoly is when there a few names with control of the market place. Neither the names Janice submitted or does Sitcoms fit either catogory. Sitcoms is your favorite place and I'm sure the names Janice offered are her favorites. That is what the thread is, not Janice's personal interpertation of what constitues a monoply..

OK, but you didn't mention poloponies. Monopolies and oligopolies are very important, but don't forget poloponies.
