Default OMG One of the MANY Reasons I adore Dorothy!!

THE MRS. DOOLITTLE STORY!!!

The one where her sister Gloria broke her favorite doll....

OMG does anyone else just DIE when you see it??? The hilarity in the way she just kept going on and on and on about the doll, right in the middle of the other conversation about Blanche's sister basing the novel off of Blanches life. Also, this was the episode where Stans cousin Magda was in town.

Its just her delivery of the lines that is the pure GENIUS of Bea Arthur. Between her and Betty White, I feel there are no other parallels to them in comedic actresses....

SHE DIDNT JUST BREAK HER, SHE FIXED THE EYES SO THEY WOULDNT CLOSE ANYMORE....SHE MADE MRS. DOOLITTLE LOOK LIKE A METHADONE ADDICT.

ACCIDENT MY FOOT!!!!

MY VERY FAVORITE DOLL!!

Magda: Dorothy....let it go....

(Dorothy's expression at that point is priceless)

**** I just remembered, this episode has ANOTHER one of my favorite GG moments that was HILARIOUS...

At the bookstore, right after Blanche has her tirade, she ends with

VIXEN, STORY OF A WOMAN IS NOTHING BUT PURE AND UTTER FILTH!!

.....And the way everyone in the store makes a mad dash to the books, and Sophia starts hittin Magda, tussling over the book, and the way Dorothy looks at Sophia when she runs over to her while clutching the book...

*** OKAY, OKAY I have to add just ONE more of my favorite moments (especially of her and Rose interacting).

The part at the end of the story that Rose was telling about Sonia Klingenhoffer in the comic strip, Rose was right at the part about the joke between the two crows but Dorothy told her to basically shut up and get out.

On the way out Rose bumps into Sophia, whom Dorothy now suspects of her having eavesdropped on the convo about tagging along to the Bahamas:

Sophia: It's okay, I've always wanted a nose like Joe Frazier!

Dorothy: Ma, how long were you listening at the door?

Sophia: I wasn't listening at the door....

Dorothy: Oh? Then why was your face pressed against the crack?

Rose: Thats what the crow said!!!!

Dorothy: GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fury in Dorothy, the way Rose hurriedly left, and the expressions on Blanche and Sophias faces....all priceless.

Omg, what in this world is better than GG? They are pure magic. I'm 26 and I have been watching GG strong since 2001, and I think that when I am as old as them, I will still pull out my GG DVD's (or whatever technology is out then) and watch My Girls!!!

I know... Dorothy always had such great, memorable lines, and Bea's delivery and double takes are absolutely classic!!!

Yes she sure did!

Not to mention, those facial expressions she would give, lol.

Dorothy could make me laugh by saying nearly anything. "Guatamala",
"Testimonial" "Girl Scout Toilets" "The Shirelles" ...she knew how to do comedy flawlessly.

A lot of the time Bea could get a laugh saying absolutely nothing. The look alone was enough.

One of my personal Dorothy favorites:

Dorothy: “Now Rose, we’ve talked about pets – it’s not fair. There’s no one home during the day to take care of it.”
Sofia: “I’m home during the day.”
Dorothy (not missing a beat): “There’s no one lucid home during the day to take care of it.”

That "look of exaspiration" in response to any of the other three, I know what you're talking about! lol:
