It looks like The Dr. Phil Show is going to do a show on the Connecticut River Valley Killer tomorrow (Oct 27, 2009). Jane Boroski will be on it. From the Dr. Phil website:

I just got finished watching. (I taped the show and I'll be sure to upload it to the site that's not allowed to be mentioned here some time this week.)
Even though I've never been a fan of Dr. Phil, this was a good watch. The show didn't focus on the victims of the Connecticut River Valley so much but did mention that Michael Nicholaou is suspected of being the killer. The main focus of the show was on Michael's son, Nick. He understandably has trouble living every day knowing what his father did to his step-mother, step-sister and most likely his birth mother Michelle Ashely as well as the 7 women who were murdered in New Hampshire and Vermont. Nick doesn't want to believe that his father is the suspected serial killer but he wouldn't be surprised if it were proven to be true. He said he learned at an early age that his father wasn't all there mentally. He said he first felt this way when he was 13 and, after getting in a fight with a friend, Michael Nicholaou set the friend's father's car on fire. Even though it's extremely difficult to accept, Nick now hopes that his father is burning in hell. Jane Boroski was later interviewed about her attack and revealed some of her knife wounds on her hands and neck. (They actually didn't look as bad as I thought they would.) Like in previous interviews, she said she is 100% sure that Michael Nicholaou is her attacker. When she was brought out, she and Nick hugged. Nick broke down and cried and Jane was very sweet and told him that she doesn't blame him. She'll never blame him. And the fact that everyone gathered together on the Dr. Phil show was so that he never turns into his father. The baby that Jane was pregnant with when she was attacked sat in the audience. Her name is Jessica and she's now 21 years old. She was interviewed very shortly. Lynn Marie Carty, who is still investigating the murders in the Connecticut River Valley was also in the audience and interviewed. Jane said after all these years, she still has good days and bad days. But the mental struggles of her daughter are always a constant, painful reminder of her attack. She also says she is angry that Michael Nicholaou is now dead because she never got to have her day in court. He may be dead, but she still fears him. At this point, Dr. Phil took Jane aside and sat her down. He put another chair in front of her and he asked her to pretend that Michael Nicholaou was sitting in front of her...and to finally tell him how she feels so she can start to go on with her life. She expressed her anger and sadness. There wasn't a dry eye in the studio at that point. Phone numbers were provided at the end of the show should anyone have information on the Connecticut River Valley murders or of Michelle Ashley. |

Yes, actually I felt Dr. Phil did a pretty good job in this show. I have mixed opinions on him but in this show I liked him and what he did and how he handled it. I did not know that Jane Boroski's daughter was born with cerebal palsy and it seems to me that the baby and Jane herself were much more affected by this both mentally and physically than what the UM segment portrayed.
Yeah, looking at Nick Nicholau, wow, he was obviously beyond devastated and very affected by all of this. It was just obvious that he was very broken up by all of this and I hope he gets the emotional help he clearly needs. It is bad enough what his dad did to his family but what he did to other people just adds to that. But overall it was a good show and was emotional. |

I finally watched the show and it was extremely emotional. I cried the whole way through. I thought it was very brave of both Nick Nicholau and Jane Boroski to come on the show. Somebody out there please give Nick a hug!! Sheesh!! What a hard life he's had, and now he has to deal with so much shame over his father. It sounds like he's not doing too well and the little family he has left is not in contact with him.
I'm curious as to how much Lynn Marie Carty has been in contact with Nick and if he has been able to shed any light on the investigation into his own mother's disappearance, or to any of the other crimes MN is suspected of committing. |

The show was very good. I honestly don't like Dr. Phil but I was very interested in the stories of his guests this time. I hope Nick is able to get past the pain and move on with his life.
