If so, how did it make you feel? When I was in 5th grade, it happened to me. I was having my best year, I had met my best friend and my all-time favorite teacher that year. I ended up moving out of the neighborhood, so naturally, I had to go to another school. I was so devastated. I went from having some of the best times of my life, to starting over in a new school. The new school was old, run down, and dim. My old school was more state of the art. But it wasn't that, I had to make new friends, had to deal with bullies. One girl I could not stand, because she treated me just like the new kid I was. She instigated stuff about me to bullies. One time, I was having a bad day in that school, having to adjust. I went home that day and literally cried. I cried because I was not liking this school, and I was missing my best friend and teacher in my old school. But I stuck it out and like I mentioned, I made new friends in the school. But came 7th grade when I started middle school, I saw many of my friends in my old school there, including my best freind, so it was like coming home back home!

I was. At the end of 1973 my dad's job got transfered to Toledo, and my family moved here on January 27, 1974. I was in the seventh grade, and it went well.

I was in 2nd grade and my Dad was in the military and we moved from PA to NC. We moved in October 1973. I didn't want to move. I had friends in PA and I had family that I loved. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I liked my teachers and I made new friends. We were living on base and that year was my favorite year living in NC. The next year we moved into a house off base and I went to a different school. Even though that first year there was okay, most of the rest of the time I spent in NC, I was miserable. Looking back, I wish I never left PA now. |

Yeah, and it was a scary experience. Though it did have a good side. I failed second grade in 1984 so when all my friends went on to third grade I was stuck in second again and my friends from the previous year didn't want to be friends with me anymore and the kids that new year looked down on me for failing a grade. The only exception was girl who sat next to me who was named Debbie. We moved in Jan of 1985 so I found myself in a new school having to made new friends and that wasn't easy. The good thing was that none of them knew I had failed a grade. Infact, I never told anyone about having failed a grade until I was in high school. It spent most of the first half of 1985 trying to get used to my new school. It really wasn't until the following year that I became comfortable with my new school.

Yes - I moved across the state at the end of 1992... It ended up winning out in my favor. Prior to the move, I was in first grade. When I started school after the move, they put me in second grade. I would have graduated from high school in 2004, but graduated in 2003, due to that move.
![]() I HATED the town, though... Moved back to my hometown as soon as I could, which was 3 months after I graduated in 2003. |

I switched schools halfway through kindergarten. I don't remember much about how I felt.

My dad is in the military so that's happened to me A BUNCH. I was never in the same school for more than a year until we got stationed here. We've been at Barksdale for about 6 years now, so I didn't have to transfer during high school or anything like that.
...I'm rambling. |

We moved to Arizona and I remember I didn't want to go to school. I asked my mom if I could stay home and start next year. Of course that didn't happen. The teacher introduces you and all eyes are on you. Kids whisper. But it wasn't so bad. A girl named Ann Barnes came up and talked to me, she was sweet.
