Default Remember It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Remember when "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" used to be a major TV event. Every year, around Halloween time, CBS would air it, and every year we would watch it. That tradition has gone away, but here's a great Fancast alternative where you can watch it - and a ton of other fun Halloween themed shows and movies on your computer - whenever you want. Free, of course.

http://www.fancast.com/specials/halloween

Fancast has put together an amazing collection of Halloween entertainment, from that Charlie Brown special to zombie movies (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead), or Elvira-hosted flicks, Vincent Price films, and offerings from the suspense master Alfred Hitchcock. There's special Halloween episodes of some of fav TV shows like Friends, Melrose Place (the original), Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls - and, of course, a bunch of Treehouse of Horror episodes from The Simpsons.

How about corny B-horror movies like Attack of the Puppet People, The Crawling Hand, or Troll 2. Even some Lifetime special horror TV movies - Haunting Sarah and The Haunting of Superiority Row. Stuff for the kids, stuff for yourself. It's a lot of fun, check it out.

Cool

I'm watching it right now. It's airing in Canada on a station called YTV.

It still airs every year on ABC (as does Thanksgiving and Christmas ones). Watch for the Halloween one twice this week on ABC (Tues and Wednesday at 8).

yea, but they cut it up. That's why I bought the Christmas one on DVD and I'm thinking of buying the Halloween one.

When they air it in one-hour form (like they are on Tuesday) it is unedited. They air it with the Election special.

Didn't realize Charlie Brown would be a point of contention, it's just one part of the Fancast Halloween colllection. But Peanuts fans should note, Fancast has the Peanuts network, and in addition to Great Pumpkin includes: Charlie Brown's Allstars; Peanuts Motions Comics; Someday You'll Find her, Charlie Brown; The Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show (2000-2004); What a Nightmare, Charlie Brown.

It's also great that staples like Rudolph and Frosty are still aired every year. Hey Pav, do you know why none of the networks air the Garfield holiday specials anymore? I mean, I have the DVD, but I can't understand why they are not aired on TV anymore.

they do? COOL! But still, I'd rather see it without that network logo in the corner of the screen.
And, I'm sure it's MOSTLY unedited (you wouldn't lie about something like that ) but it's not completely because I know that at the end of the Christmas one it says, just before A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. THE END then a credit apears that says SEASONS GREETINGS FROM YOUR COCA-COLA BOTTLER
And in the opening, there's a scene where Linus crashes into a Coca-Cola billboard. So I'm sure the Halloween one has something similar that's been cut out.
