What eps could they have done. I have a few ideas:
1. Sally and Hermen get married 2. Mel gets offered another job for a meaner boss (IF there is one) 3. Buddy does a standup act to earn some extra money 4. Rob and Larua can find they inherited some money, but have to spend time in a haunted house to get it 5. Larua repaints the living room which Rob does not like the color 6. Rob gets looked in a loony ban becasue some sees him triping over everything *on another note, its kind of ironic that I think the DVD show should have got 2 more seasons but I would have stopped the Andy Griffith Show after 5 |

Those are all great story ideas.

also, a cross-over episode with "THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW". I know; that show ended in 1964, but "PETTICOAT JUNCTION" did a Thanksgiving cross-over episode with "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" the year after"PJ" went off (at least I think they did) so why not?

That was actually in 1968, the season before PJ ended. Still a good idea though...if only right? LOL

What with all the modern computer technology, will it really be too long before they're able to colorize these old b&w episodes of classic TV shows in a way that makes them look like they were actually filmed in color to begin with ? When(ever) they do, I'm looking forward to seeing "Alan Brady Presents," "Coast-to-Coast Big Mouth," and "Walnuts."
As Justin said... "if only." Scott |

I think with today's technology they could give you both B&W and color versions on a DVD and let you decide which one you want to watch.
If there were more seasons Alan Brady could have gone to Hollywood for a few shows. Maybe they could have done it like I Love Lucy and had a couple of shows on the road while Rob and Laura drive there. Imagine being able to watch Ritchie spit in the Grand Canyon! |

2. Mel could never find a meaner boss than Alan Brady!! 3. They did an episode where Buddy and Sally did an act in the Catskills on the weekends to make extra money(they billed themselves as "Gilbert and Sullivan") 4. They did a haunted house ep. called "The Ghost of A. Chantz" 5.They did an episode where Laura hired an eccentric painter (played by Vito Scotti) to repaint the living room. It was called "Give Me Your Walls". 6.Seems more like a reason to send him to the hospital! |

While it could be interesting to see a colorized version of the show, my problem with that would be not in the act of colorizing in itself, but the fact that on every show and movie I've ever seen that was colorized, they did a terrible job with it.
What's usually particularly bad is the backgrounds. Often, they'll just color the actors, and a lot of the furniture, but leave things in the background in their original black and white form, hoping it'll pass as being white or gray. But when they do that, it looks terrible. I've probably only seen a couple dozen things that have been colorized, but I've never seen what could even remotely be called a decent job done on it. Another thing that bugs me about when they colorize old movies is they don't do anything to the actors' teeth lol. They colorize their face and lips, but when they talk, their teeth are a dingy gray color, just as they would be on the original B&W film. But it really stands out when everything around the teeth is colorized When I first heard about the colorizing technology, I thought it would be really cool to get at least an idea of what a scene looked like when it was shot (even though a lot of coloring is guess-work as far as figuring out the original color of something). But after seeing what a poor job the colorizing companies do, I say just leave the B&W stuff the way it is. They're only ruining it when they don't put in the effort to do a decent job on it. |

I hate colorization - it never looks right. If it was originally filmed in black & white, it should stay that way.
