Bill Murray On "Charlie's Angels" Director McG: "He Deserves To Die!"

The following is an excerpt from an interview Bill Murray did with Times Online:


"Of other directors, though, he is not so enamoured.

Terminator Salvation’s McG (aka Joseph McGinty Nichol), for one, who directed Murray in Charlie’s Angels, recently claimed that Murray headbutted him on the Angels’ set during a creative dispute.

“That’s bulls***! That’s complete crap!” says Murray, flushing slightly yet maintaining composure. “I don’t know why he made that story up. He has a very active imagination.”


He pauses. The subject seems closed, but then a minor eruption.

“No! He deserves to die,” he says, coldly staring, without breaking deadpan. “He should be pierced with a lance, not headbutted.” "

What I do know is that Bill Murray did not have a good time working on this; which is the reason he did not come back for Full Throttle.

I heard that a heated argument between him and Lucy Liu shut down production for a day.

I read that he and Lucy did mend fences but he doesn't want to work with her again for fear that friction would erupt again.

I'm actually wondering on who they are going to get to be the new Bosley for the third one; since I doubt Murray would come back and Bernie Mac died.

Barrymore confirmed it some time ago and McG has stated he won't be back.

I also heard that Bill Murray initially, was reluctant to do the movie in the first place, but Drew Barrymore kept badgering him otherwise. At the Saturday Night Live 25 anniversay special, Bill walked over to Drew in the audience and said "Don't go chasing waterfalls!" That was supposedly, an inside joke about the whole manner.
