Default my thoughts on the eagles raiders game

ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY..... ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY... ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY.. THose are the words I have lived by for nearly all of my years as an nfl fan... This week I made the mistake of saying there is no way no way no way in hell the eagles lose this game.... The high flying eagles against the hapless raiders... A sure thing right?? Well I certainly thought so... Boy was I wrong... It is ok for the fans to think that but it sure as hell is not ok for the team to think that... The eagles were in no way shape or form ready to play football today... They took the attitude that I had out to the west coast this week & layed a big fat goose egg.

Ladies and gentlemen I am at a lost for words to be honest with you... I just now 2 hrs after the game finally picked myself off my living room floor and really cant think of much to say at this moment...

I will try however...

The eagles offensive line is horrible, there is no other way to put it... injuries have decimated that line and god only knows when we will be back at full strength there....

King dunlap couldn't block me ...let alone richard seymour... It was a tough break when Peters went down early on & that did play a factor in the lack of pass protection....

The pass/run ratio was about 90/10 in favor of the pass today... That is not the way u win in this league....

A promising day went down the tubes in a hurry just after 4pm today...

I said a few weeks ago that I did not know who the eagles were and I was waiting to see them against the giants to decide... Well i can say this:

Championship teams do not lose that group of raiders... I tip my hat to the raiders, they came out with a purpose and the fire the eagles should have had... The eagles are a very young team and their immaturity came out in a big way this afternoon...

Its games like this that sometimes are a good thing in the grand scheme of things with young teams... We shall see how these young men react and handle such a pitiful loss

I will never understand why Andy Reid struggles on the road against AFC teams. I mentioned it earlier and was stunned to see the Raiders won. I saw that a lot of it came from the Giants Antion Pierce saying their game against the Raiders felt like a scrimmage-lol

But I can imagine how you feel right now. That's like the Eagles getting beat at pm by a Good Team and then Dallas turns around and loses to the Rams. It just made it seem like the Saints/Giants Game never happened today

They have the perfect scenario for a bounceback next week- Monday night, in Washington- Zorn's Last Stand.

Mike, I noticed how bad King Dunlap was too. I can't believe how much I miss Jason Peters now on our line. Queen is more like it. He couldn't stop anything from coming over. Seymour had a field day with him and our line yesterday.

I noticed another great game from Desean Jackson though too. 6 catches, 91 yards. Even though it wasn't a big big game, or a prime time game, he is still showing up every game, bad team or good, win or loss.

I really put extreme emphasis on the words- ANY GIVEN SUNDAY now, so much that I might actually watch that movie, after a performance like that from my team yesterday.

McNabb was horrible. Absolutely horrible. Sure he threw for 260+ passing yards, and ran a little, when he got out of pocket yesterday, but some of his throws- it really reminded me of the Championship game vs. Arizona last year, I don't know about you Mike, but that's what I thought.

The defense couldn't stop them. We had 2 picks, and we stopped their running attack pretty good for the most part- except we couldn't do it at the end when it counts, and to get the ball back, but that's another story in it's own.

just really disappointed with our performance and play yesterday. we need to come back and kick butt vs. Washington on MNF next week, and prepare for the Giants the week after. I will stand by my team each week win or loss, but that was pathetic. Go Eagles!

Beating the skins after a previous loss is not a bounce back because the skins are already garbage. It will just be a WIN
