Default Could there ever been a Reunion?

Do you think, if so many cast members didn't have such untimely deaths, (E.M., D.Y. D. S.),there could have been some sort of reunion for Bewitched?

Elizabeth Montgomery never wanted to do a reunion - stating that it would marr the memory of the show. They would never be able to top what they had accomplished with the original show. I think she was right. Besides, to me it wouldn't be a real reunion anyway without the late supporting cast members (most especially Agnes Moorehead).

There is hardly anybody left for a reunion.

Yeah, I don't think it would work with just Dr. Bombay and the kids.

The closest thing there was to a reunion was when Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick Sargent hosted or were part of a parade.

Lol

Yeah, as much as we want the cast members to come back it just wouldn't be the same. Most of these reunion shows that I've seen (Growing Pains, Brady Bunch, etc) have been kind of disappointing. Especially if they do too many of them. It's like "Go away already!"

Yeah, they were grand marshals of a gay pride parade in LA back in the early 90s.

Yeah the 1992 Pride Parade that Dick Sargent asked her to Co-Host with him
in LA that year, i watched it on my DVD of it the other day, at least
the 6 or 7 minutes that she was on it for.

Now if i can just find her Co-Hosting of the
1967 Tournament of Roses parade

Liz was against any reunion & was spot on in her views i think, she said they could never do Bewitched better or for that matter as well even so what would be the point.

Without Agned Moorehead it just would not have been right as well.

Without La La Liz there was no way that any reunion of Bewitched would have been even considered by anyone & rightfully so.

What would have been interesting would have been the roundtable get together that became so popular in the 1990's where the cast, Producers, writers, directors etc. would get together & talk about what it was like making the show, tell anecdotes, stories, behind the scenes secrets & talk about favorite scenes & episodes while they were shown on screen, i loved those & would have been thrilled to see one about Bewitched, even now where you could use a lot of behind the scenes people from the crew etc.

I prefer it when classic TV sitcoms do a retrospective instead of a reunion episode (although the 'Dick Van Dyke' reunion episode a few years ago wasn't bad, all of the survivng cast particpated). You learn more tidbits and more trivia with a retrospective than with a reunion show. That's what I got from the 2005 Happy Days Reunion.

Yeah, I understood Liz did not want to do a reunion show or movie, but in this case I wish there could have been a retrospective reunion, like so many other shows have done.

I can't say this for sure, but i heard a rumour that a retrospective reunion
was planned in the late 1980's with Erin Murphy hosting it, but Liz didn't want to do it (most likely out of shyness) so it never happened, a real shame as i would have loved to have seen that, it would have been fascinating & very informative.

Yeah, it's a shame that they didn't do it when they had the chance (and the principal cast were alive). Jaclyn Smith has said that she regrets now that the Charlie's Angels cast didn't do a reunion special when Farrah was still alive.

Both would have worked for me, they could've done it right. Liz knew how the first time, everyone but Agnes could've been involved in some capacity. A retro could have also been good. Lost In Space never had a reunion show but, did do a bit that was a close of a reunion as we fans could get. It was called Lost In Space Forever and was shot aboard the jupiter 2 with Will, Smith, and The Robot. They came together again in The Fantastic Worlds of Irwin Allen, this time with June Lockhart. I loved both dvd's.
