It is tuff when a loved one has passed away,like your monther,father my dad passed away few years back so did mu step dad, My mom who is 80 in May has health issues but, it is going to be hard when she passes on I am the youngest of four I'm 46 but,we are close nit have many relitves but, who ever told you about death?

Yea I understand what you're going through. It will be 7 years on Sunday that my Mom passed away.

I don't remember when I first learned about death. My first memory of it was when my Grandfather died. I was 7 at the time. I remember my Mom telling me that my Grandpa had gone to Heaven. It was really a short conversation.

I was about five years old, and I overheard my mother and my uncle discussing that someone died. I asked what it meant. My mother told me what death meant, very gently, but still, I was floored. I understood, for the first time, that a time will come that I would die.

Death--One minute someone is there, the next they are gone. It is a sad thing

I hope people here tell thier Family and Friends how much they are loved while they are still alive

I don't remember who first told me about it, but I can remember the first death I ever heard about. It was my mothers mother in 1964. When I went to her viewing that was the first time I ever saw a dead body.

I was watching a soap with my mom I think I was 3 maybe 4. This man was crying because his wife was dying.

"Why's he crying mommy?"
"Because his wife is dying."
"What do you do when you die mommy?"
"Where your soul goes to heaven."

That's all I remember.

The first time I knew about the meaning of death was when Ray Combs (who was known for hosting the second version of the game show "Family Feud" from 1988 to 1994) committed suicide in June 1996. From Oct. 1995-Jan. 1996, he hosted another game show (that I seriously overdosed on) for the Family Channel called "Family Challenge." This addiction came at a big price for me (and not just with schoolwork at that time!) when I found out (from my mom) that Ray committed suicide. Needless to say, it was not a good way to start the summer of 1996 for me.

I kinda learned in 1997, when I was 9 when my paternal Grandfather died. Nobody had really explained it to me previously that much, or at least if they did- they used different terms/words to lament it, or I don't remember, but I still didn't understand after he died, but it was a head on experience with it, to make me more understandable somewhat, and helped me learn from it.

Ray Combs was awesome. I loved both game shows, and him in them as well. It's sad- I forgot he took his life. I knew it, but I never knew when exactly. I wonder why he did it. Probably problems at home, because he had great jobs- at least it seemed like he would of thoroughly enjoyed them, and going to work each day- I'm not sure.

I don't remember anyone ever telling me about death. I just always understood somehow.

I was 6 when my kindergarten teacher told me that a classmate's baby sibling had died... the baby was just 1 year old (I was in kindergarten in 1991, so that child would be 19 now, if it had lived). She and my parents tried to explain dying to me, but I didn't really fully understand at the time. So they just let it go. The next year in 1992 when I was 7 and in second grade, my great-grandma passed away. It was then that I FINALLY understood death. I remember asking my mom a lot of questions, just to make sure I understood.

too long ago for me to remember. the first death i heard about was that of an old lady we knew, and i understood what happened. guess death was just always in my
